  1. Go to iberia.com, since Air Nostrum operates as Iberia Regional and its tickets are booked and managed by Iberia.
  2. Add extra bags during the ticket purchase flow by choosing the 15 kg, 23 kg or 32 kg option for each additional piece.
  3. To add bags after booking, open Manage your booking (Gestion de reservas) on iberia.com with your booking code and surname, or use the Iberia App.
  4. Alternatively add extra bags later during online check-in; the price is lowest at booking time and highest at check-in, but still below airport rates.
  5. Complete payment online; keep the confirmation and updated itinerary for airport check-in.
  6. If you were unable to pre-book, go to the airport check-in counter before the recommended time to pay the higher airport rate.
  7. For sports equipment, musical instruments or any oversized item on an Air Nostrum (YW) flight, contact the Iberia Customer Service Centre in advance to confirm space, then pay at the airport.

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Extra bags (15 kg, 23 kg or 32 kg options) can be added during ticket purchase on iberia.com, later in Manage your booking, or during online check-in, up to a maximum of 9 bags including the free allowance. Special baggage and excess weight on Air Nostrum-operated flights can only be paid at the airport.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Up to 9 checked bags per passenger including the free allowance, subject to destination. Each piece: maximum 23 kg standard (up to 32 kg against an overweight charge); bags over 32 kg cannot be carried. Maximum dimensions 158 cm (height + width + length) including handles, pockets and wheels.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Bags between 23 kg and 32 kg pay a fixed per-kilo charge (EUR 12-15/kg on domestic, European, North African and Middle East flights; EUR 15/kg on America and Asia flights). Payment for excess weight can only be processed at the airport. Luggage exceeding 158 cm must be confirmed in advance with the Booking Centre; odd-shaped luggage accepted at check-in pays a specific supplementary charge. Business Class passengers get free overweight; Iberia Club Infinita Prime, Infinita, Platino and Platino Prime members get free overweight on all Iberia Group flights including Air Nostrum.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Online prices (iberia.com, Iberia App, telephone sales) are always lower than airport prices, and within online channels the price rises from booking time to check-in time. For example a first 23 kg bag within Spain costs from EUR 18 online versus from EUR 42 at the airport.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

On flights with connections or operated by another carrier (oneworld codeshare and partners), different baggage rules may apply; if the operating carrier is not part of the Iberia Group (Iberia, Iberia Express or Air Nostrum), check that carrier's specific rules.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

On flights operated by Air Nostrum (YW), special baggage (sports equipment, musical instruments, bulky items) can only be paid for at the airport, and due to the smaller aircraft you must confirm space with the Customer Service Centre before travelling or it may be refused. Dakar and Santo Domingo have their own 23 kg extra-bag price bands. Sporting equipment accepted free on long-haul flights counts as a checked-bag item, so exceeding the allowance turns it into additional baggage.
