How to Add Extra Baggage & Prices on Arajet

Buy Baggage
  1. Go to arajet.com and add baggage while completing your booking, or click 'MANAGE / CHECK-IN' in the top menu if you already have a reservation.
  2. Enter your last name and confirmation number on the 'Find your trip' page and click 'Continue' to retrieve your reservation.
  3. Choose the baggage option you want to add (checked bag, carry-on, sports equipment or pet) for your flight segment and review the quoted price for the current purchase window.
  4. Complete payment online to add the baggage to your reservation.
  5. If you missed the online windows, add baggage at the airport check-in counter on the day of travel (subject to availability) - arrive early.

Prices

Prices are per flight leg and depend on when you buy: during booking is cheapest, then up to 14 days before, up to 2 days before, and during online check-in. All prices are starting prices ('from') that vary by route, flight date and fare class; taxes not included.

When should I buy extra baggage to get the best price?

Buy during online booking for the lowest price. Prices increase at each stage: up to 14 days before departure, up to 2 days before, during online check-in, and at the airport (e.g., a 1st checked bag goes from USD 33 during booking to USD 70 at the airport).

How many bags can I take, and what are the limits?

Each customer may check in a maximum of 3 checked bags per flight; a 4th bag or more is only available at the airport, subject to availability. Each checked bag is max 23 kg and 158 cm linear, upgradable to a maximum of 32 kg. Carry-on max 12 kg and 56x46x25 cm; a personal item (max 6 kg, 40x25x20 cm, 10 kg to/from Brazil) is always free. Hold baggage over 32 kg or 366 cm linear is not accepted.

How are extra baggage charges calculated?

Per flight leg, starting from published 'from' prices that vary by time of purchase, flight date, fare class and route; taxes are not included. Comfort and Extra fare bundles include one 23 kg checked bag; Basic and Classic fares do not include one.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. A 1st checked bag starts at USD 33 during booking versus USD 70 at the airport; carry-on starts at USD 30 online versus USD 80 at the airport. Purchasing through the call center adds a USD 20 administrative fee.

What are the overweight and oversized baggage rules?

Weight upgrades are sold in 3 kg bundles up to 26, 29 or 32 kg and are only available at the airport check-in counter after agent verification (over 32 kg travels as cargo). Bags of 158-230 cm linear pay an oversized fee; bags over 230 cm linear travel as cargo and cannot go as baggage.

Can I get a refund for prepaid baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Additional services are non-refundable and non-transferable, even if unused. Arajet's Refund Flex add-on (only purchasable at reservation time) refunds the base fare plus paid extras excluding the service cost itself.

Are there any important restrictions I should know?

Purchases made through the call center include a USD 20 administrative fee. Carry-on may not always be available for purchase because cabin space is limited. Infants under 2 have no checked baggage entitlement, but children under 5 may check one stroller for free.
