FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Extra, overweight and oversize bags can be added at any time after booking via Manage Your Booking on cyprusairways.com, during web check-in, or at the airport counter.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Add baggage during the initial booking on cyprusairways.com, afterwards in Manage Your Booking, during web check-in, or at the airport counter.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

The cheapest baggage rates apply when you add extras more than 48 hours before departure. Prices rise in the 48 h – 3 h window and again less than 3 hours before departure and at the airport counter.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Extra bag prices depend on flight length (short-haul under 2 hours vs long-haul over 2 hours) and on how early you buy (more than 48 h, 48 h – 3 h, or less than 3 h before departure). All prices are per bag, per sector.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Standard checked bags: up to 23 kg and 203 cm total dimensions (L + W + H). Overweight bags accepted up to 32 kg; bags over 203 cm travel as oversize. Cabin: one personal item up to 5 kg (35 × 20 × 20 cm) plus one cabin bag 55 × 40 × 20 cm (10 kg in Economy, 15 kg in Business).

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Online advance purchase is cheapest; airport and last-minute (< 3 h) rates are highest — e.g. an extra bag costs from €23.00 short-haul when added early vs from €60.00 less than 3 hours before departure.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Bags over 23 kg up to 32 kg travel as overweight and bags over 203 cm total dimensions travel as oversize, each with its own time-windowed fee table. These fees are shown on the Additional Services page and are added to the booking the same way as extra bags.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

If your ticket shows a Cyprus Airways flight number but the flight is operated by another airline, the operating airline's baggage rules apply — including allowance, fees and claims handling. Submit baggage reports directly to the operating carrier.

Can I pay for extra baggage with cards, loyalty points, or miles?

Online payments accept all major credit and debit cards. At the airport, both cash and card payments are accepted.
