Eurowings Baggage Allowance

Free checked and carry-on baggage allowances by cabin class and route. Allowances vary by route, ticket type, and frequent flyer status — always confirm with the official baggage policy before you fly.

How to Add Extra Baggage & Prices on Eurowings

Buy Baggage
  1. Go to eurowings.com and open 'My trip' > 'Manage booking' > 'Add extras' (large cabin-bag upgrades can also be added in the Eurowings app).
  2. Select 'I booked my own trip' (or the tour-operator option) and enter your six-character booking code and last name, then click 'Open booking'.
  3. Choose 'Baggage & special baggage', select the weight tier (up to 12 kg, 23 kg or 32 kg) and the number of pieces — baggage can also be added during the initial flight booking.
  4. Review the route-dependent price and complete payment at least 2 hours before departure.

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Additional bags can always be added to your booking through the Eurowings website or the call centre, and large cabin bags can also be added via the Eurowings app.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Under 'My trip' > 'Manage booking' > 'Add extras' with your booking code and last name, during the initial flight booking, via the call centre, through the Eurowings app (large cabin bag), or at the airport counter at higher rates.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Baggage can be added online or via the call centre up to 2 hours before departure; this is also the cutoff for the up-to-50% online discount.

How does Eurowings price extra baggage?

Three weight tiers (up to 12, 23 or 32 kg) with route-dependent from-prices per leg per person: 1st bag from €17 (12 kg), €18 (23 kg) or €67 (32 kg); 2nd bag from €70, €75 or €125. SMART includes 1 x 23 kg and BIZclass includes 2 x 32 kg.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online vs at the airport?

Yes. Online or call-centre purchase saves up to 50% compared to the airport counter, and excess weight is surcharged at €15 / £13 / 14 CHF / $17 per kg per piece at the airport.

How many checked bags can I bring?

A maximum of 5 checked bags of up to 32 kg each per passenger. Prams, buggies, travel cots, baby carriers, folding wagons and child seats travel free in the hold, up to two items per child up to age 11 with no advance registration.

What happens if my bag exceeds the weight limit?

Bulky baggage up to 23 kg travels at the normal checked-bag price; above 23 kg an excess surcharge from €15 / £13 per kg applies. Sports equipment over 32 kg is charged at the normal additional-suitcase price.

Do partner-operated flights have different baggage rules?

Yes. On flights with partner airlines (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Condor, United Airlines, Air Canada, All Nippon Airways) the respective airline's baggage regulations apply.
