FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. If you booked directly on ewa-air.com, you can add checked baggage or seats online by retrieving your reservation with your booking reference and last name.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

On ewa-air.com under MA RESERVATION / Gerez votre reservation, or via a partner travel agency. If you booked through a travel agency, all changes must be made through that agency.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Add baggage or seat options online until 48 hours before departure (Reunion flights, per the FAQ). The Manage Booking page notes most self-service functions stay available until 24 hours before the flight, but the 48-hour FAQ deadline is the safer cutoff for baggage options. Excess weight beyond the allowance is payable at check-in.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

The free allowance is one checked bag of 20 kg and one cabin bag of 6 kg plus a small accessory. Any weight above the allowance on the ticket is charged at check-in at 10 euros per kilo. Sports equipment and pets in the cabin have fixed fees.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

One checked bag of 20 kg per passenger (10 kg for infants under 2), with the sum of the three dimensions not exceeding 300 cm. Cabin: one 6 kg bag (65 x 35 x 25 cm) plus one accessory of 2-3 kg (handbag, laptop or small backpack); infants are limited to a medium changing bag in the cabin, with the stroller carried free in the hold.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

No separate oversize fee is published. A checked bag must not exceed 300 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height). Sports equipment must not exceed 180 cm in length and 300 cm in total dimensions.

Can I get a refund or transfer extra baggage if I cancel or change my booking?

Sports equipment and pet options bought during the booking process are not refundable, but they are transferable (modifiable) when you change your travel dates.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Cardboard boxes, crates and unclosed shopping bags (sisal, raffia or plastic) are not accepted as baggage on Ewa Air flights; contact the EWA AIR Fret (cargo) service for shipping boxes or crates. Passengers who booked via a travel agency must make all baggage changes through that agency.
