How to Add Extra Baggage & Prices on Jetstar Asia

Buy Baggage
  1. Go to jetstar.com (Singapore site) and make a booking, selecting the checked baggage weight allowance you need before payment.
  2. If already booked, go to Manage booking at booking.jetstar.com/mmb/ and retrieve your itinerary with your booking reference and email address.
  3. In Manage booking, select the option to add bags/checked baggage and choose the extra weight or +7 kg Extra Carry-On upgrade.
  4. Pay for the added baggage online before check-in opens.
  5. If you have an item with any side over 100 cm, pay the oversized handling fee in Manage booking before going to the airport.

Carry-on upgrades (+7 kg Extra Carry-On, 14 kg total across 2 items, max 10 kg per item) have limited availability per flight on selected routes only.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Any bag or item with a single side longer than 100 cm is oversized: a handling fee applies per item per flight on top of the weight allowance, and oversized items count towards total checked weight. On JQ international flights the fee is SGD $40 per item when booked online vs SGD $45 at the airport. The fee does not apply to mobility/assistive devices, medical equipment or infant items.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Published airport fees differ between Jetstar Airways (JQ) and Jetstar Japan (GK) flights (e.g. different first-block weights: 20 kg vs 15 kg). When connecting domestic to international you are charged international rates for the whole journey; on JQ-GK international connections the higher charges apply.
