FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Additional checked baggage is offered as an optional service when booking on pngair.com.pg through the online booking engine, and existing reservations can be retrieved in Manage Booking with your surname and booking reference.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Buy it during online booking on pngair.com.pg (booking engine at booking.pngair.com.pg), via Manage Booking for existing reservations, at PNG Air sales offices, through the contact center, or at the airport.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Checked baggage pricing depends on your fare type: Basic and Value fares pay for the first bag (PGK 100 and PGK 50 for 16 kg respectively), Flexible includes 1 free bag at 23 kg, and Corporate includes 2 free bags at 23 kg. Additional bags cost PGK 50-200 depending on fare type, and any weight over the allowance is charged as excess by weight at port-specific rates.

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Free checked allowance depends on fare type: Flexible fares include 1 bag at 23 kg and Corporate fares include 2 bags at 23 kg, while Basic and Value fares include no free bag (first 16 kg bag costs PGK 100 and PGK 50 respectively). Infants get no allowance, though strollers and car seats are uplifted free. No single piece may exceed 32 kg or 158 cm linear dimensions; cabin baggage is limited to one 7 kg piece plus a personal item, with at most two power banks per passenger in the cabin.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

No single checked piece may weigh more than 32 kg, and combined linear dimensions must not exceed 158 cm. Weight over the allowance is charged as excess baggage by weight at rates that vary by port; no public per-port rate table is published. Overweight and oversize amounts are airport-handled fees, not online-purchasable products.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

All listed baggage charges exclude GST, which is added at checkout. The fare-based baggage rules apply to bookings made on or after 21 November 2025; bookings made before that date follow the previous fare rules.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Add baggage while booking and complete payment within 24 hours of making the booking. PNG Air publishes no separate online-baggage cutoff; after ticketing, changes go through Manage Booking, sales offices, the contact center, or the airport.
