  1. Go to View My Booking at ibe.precisionairtz.com (linked from precisionairtz.com) and retrieve your reservation with your booking reference and last name.
  2. Open Helpdesk > Baggage (Excess Baggage Policy) on precisionairtz.com to confirm your free allowance and the excess rate for your route.
  3. Weigh each checked bag against the free allowance; if a bag is heavy or oversized, contact the Contact Center (+255 746 984 100) or a local office for prior Revenue Management approval.
  4. Pay the applicable excess charge at the airport when you check in.

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Precision Air does not publish an online pre-purchase option for excess baggage. Excess charges are fixed in the Excess Baggage Policy as per-kilo or flat-fee rates; use View My Booking to retrieve or change your reservation before departure.

Each checked bag may weigh up to 32 kg and measure up to 158 cm without special approval; the absolute maximum is 50 kg with prior Revenue Management approval. Cabin baggage is limited to 1 piece of 7 kg (55 x 38 x 20 cm).

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Precision Air uses the weight concept: each kilo over the 23 kg free allowance costs TZS 10,000 on domestic routes and USD 6.00 on regional routes, up to 32 kg per bag. Rates are not directional and apply equally both ways (e.g. DAR-NBO and NBO-DAR cost the same).

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Bags exceeding 32 kg and/or 158 cm, up to a maximum of 50 kg, need prior approval by Revenue Management and carry a flat charge of TZS 300,000 domestic or USD 200.00 regional.

Do partner-operated or codeshare flights have different baggage rules?

For sectors that the Precision Air policy does not cover, the Most Significant Carrier (MSC) baggage rules apply.

Can I pay for extra baggage with cards, loyalty points, or miles?

For online payments on its website, Precision Air accepts debit and credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex), PayPal, and mobile payments (Vodacom M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa, CRDB Sim banking), with prices displayed in USD, TZS, ZAR, EUR, AED, GBP and KES. The airline does not publish a separate payment method list for excess baggage, which is settled at the published policy rates.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Kayaks and canoes are not accepted as baggage (contact the cargo department). Pole vaults and shot put equipment are not accepted on PW aircraft. Human remains in a coffin are not accepted as baggage; ashes may be carried in the cabin in a sealed urn that fits under the seat or in the overhead bin.

When is the deadline to arrange excess baggage?

No online pre-purchase deadline is published. Excess charges are settled when you check in; bags needing prior Revenue Management approval (over 32 kg or 158 cm, up to 50 kg) must be arranged with the Contact Center or a local office in advance.
