FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Buy Pre-Paid Baggage under Additional Services in Manage Booking on bangkokair.com or the mobile app, or through the call center (1771 / +66 2270 6699), ticketing offices, or ticketing agents.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Online via Manage Booking on bangkokair.com or the mobile app, by calling 1771 (within Thailand) or +66 2270 6699, at Bangkok Airways ticketing offices, or through ticketing agents.

When is the deadline to buy extra baggage online?

Prepaid baggage must be purchased at least 2 hours before departure on the website, or at least 4 hours before departure via the call center, ticketing office, or agent. After the deadline, standard airport excess rates apply.

How does Bangkok Airways calculate extra baggage charges?

Weight-based system. Standard excess: THB 180/kg domestic; international zone-based from $12/kg (Zone 1–2) to $60/kg (routes involving Zone 5). Prepaid is cheaper: domestic THB 600–3,600 for 5–40 kg packages; international $8–48/kg by zone.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online vs at the airport?

Yes. Prepaid baggage (e.g. Zone 1–2 $8/kg vs $12/kg standard; domestic 20 kg THB 1,800 prepaid) costs less than the standard excess rate charged at the airport. Buy before the cutoff to qualify.

How much extra baggage can I buy?

Prepaid baggage is sold in 5 kg increments up to a maximum of 40 kg. Each checked piece may not exceed 32 kg per Airport of Thailand directive and must otherwise be repacked. Excess baggage is subject to space availability.

What are the overweight and oversized baggage rules?

Maximum 32 kg per piece (Airport of Thailand directive). If a piece exceeds 32 kg, it must be repacked into multiple pieces. Each piece is charged at the per-kg excess rate for the applicable zone.

Do codeshare or partner flights have different baggage rules?

Prepaid baggage applies only to Bangkok Airways-operated flights (PG). For codeshare, interline, or partner-operated flights, contact the operating airline for baggage details.

Can I get a refund for prepaid or excess baggage?

No. Prepaid baggage is non-refundable and non-reroutable, and excess baggage charges are non-refundable.
