FAQ

Can I buy extra baggage online after booking?

Yes. Extra baggage pieces of up to 10 kg, 20 kg, 25 kg or 30 kg can be bought in advance in the Manage Order (Upravlenie zakazom) section of azurair.ru.

Where do I buy extra baggage?

Online in the Manage Order section on azurair.ru (order number plus surname required), or at the departure airport check-in counter. Excess, oversize or heavy baggage may be processed at a separate check-in counter depending on departure airport technology.

How does the airline calculate extra baggage charges?

Prices depend on domestic vs international flight, flight time (up to 8 hours vs over 8 hours), the weight of the extra piece (10, 20, 25 or 30 kg), and the purchase channel (online vs airport). There is no per-kilo top-up: overweight must be covered by buying an additional piece.

Is it cheaper to buy extra baggage online in advance vs at the airport?

Yes. Buying online via Manage Order is cheaper than buying at the airport on both international flights (e.g. a 10 kg piece costs 25/30 EUR online vs 30/35 EUR at the airport) and domestic flights (e.g. a 10 kg piece costs 1000/1500 RUB online vs 1500/2500 RUB at the airport).

How many extra bags can I buy, and what are the bag limits?

Free allowance is one checked piece per passenger (10-30 kg depending on fare) with maximum 203 cm total dimensions. Extra pieces up to 30 kg each can be purchased. A single piece over 30 kg or over 203 cm is treated as heavy/oversize and charged by actual weight; a single piece over 50 kg is carried only by prior agreement with the airline and may be shipped as cargo. The airline may refuse excess, oversize or heavy baggage if there is no free capacity on the flight.

What are the overweight or oversized baggage rules?

Baggage over 203 cm total dimensions is oversize; a piece over 30 kg is heavy. Both are charged by actual weight, not by piece. Free allowance does not apply to them. A piece over 50 kg requires prior airline agreement and available aircraft capacity.

Are there any important exceptions or restrictions I should know?

Pooling of free and extra baggage pieces is not allowed, and extra pieces cannot be pooled with each other. On Moscow-Phuket-Moscow flights, baggage increases can only be bought from the tour operator, not on the airline website or at the airport. On Moscow-Cam Ranh-Moscow flights no increase is available at all (standard 1 x 10 kg only). The fruit basket service and extra baggage are unavailable on Phuket-Moscow flights, and animal-in-hold and fruit basket services are unavailable on Phu Quoc-Moscow and Cam Ranh-Moscow flights. Tour-package passengers should confirm allowance with their travel agent or tour operator.
